SAMHSA Announces New Consumer Brochure for Adults in the Criminal Justice System

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) announces the availability of “Alcohol and Drug Treatment: How It Works, And How It Can Help You,” based on Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP) 44: Substance Abuse Treatment for Adults in the Criminal Justice System. This brochure informs people involved in the criminal justice system about substance abuse treatment resources in prison and in the community. It describes what a person can gain through substance abuse treatment before trial or while incarcerated, on probation, or on parole. It encourages people to seek help for substance use disorders and tells them where to find help.
